Gaba Cha is a modern tea that was originally created for medicinal purpose by Dr. Tsushima Tojiro and his team at Japan's National Tea Experimental Station' back in the 1980's. However, is it the Taiwanese that became the World's producer and supplier of Gaba Cha, attached by its fascinating flavors. It is now standing high in any fine teas catalogues. 

 

GABA, for Gamma-aminobutyric acid, is an important amino acid that functions as a neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. This is why Gaba Cha has been considered for its multiple important health benefits that range from combating depression, mood uplifting, memory retention, relaxation, hangover cure, weight loss or to increase sexual performance, to mention a few. It is definitively a blissful happy tea. 

This tea was hand harvested and crafted in Taiwan. 

 

Steeping guide:
Teapot: 250 ml water · 80 °C · 3g tea · 4 minutes infusion
Gong Fu: 100 ml water · 90°C water · 2tsp tea 
Multiples Infusions; (1st) 35 sec, (2nd) 25 sec, (3rd) 40 sec +15 sec every additional infusions.
Bowl tea : Simply add 2 tsp of tea in a bowl to cover the bottom and pour water on top, filling the bowl half way.
