On Monday March 21, Jade (@jadesaraha) and Serene (@theserenesage) hosted a special workshop, to honor and explore the Wood element and the hexagrams ䷡ (dà zhuàng) and ䷸ (xùn), associated with the energetic way of chūn fēn 春分, the Spring Equinox.

For this occasion, we explored the Wood Element according to Chinese wisdom. Serene shared a Qi Gong practice to restore balance, and Jade shared a Tea Meditation to infuse and harmonize with the season.

About 春分 Chūn Fēn, the Spring Equinox

The traditional Chinese lunar calendar divides a year into 24 solar terms.
The Spring Equinox, as the fourth term of the year begins on March 21 this year.

Equinoxes signifies the equal length of the day and night time,
restoring balance of yin and yang of time.
The sun appears directly above the equator, aligning Heaven and Earth.

Light and darkness are again in balance, with light on the rise.
It is a time of new beginnings and of life emerging further from the grips of winter.

This transformational moment contains an incredible potential energy
for planting the seeds that will blossom and fruit in the coming months.

*This is the recording of our workshop. Available at sliding scale.*
