Gaba Cha is a modern tea that was originally created for medicinal purpose by Dr. Tsushima Tojiro and his team at Japan's National Tea Experimental Station' back in the 1980's. However, is it the Taiwanese that became the World's producer and supplier of Gaba Cha, attached by its fascinating flavors. It is now standing high in any fine teas catalogues. 

GABA, for Gamma-aminobutyric acid, is an important amino acid that functions as a neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. This is why Gaba Cha has been considered for its multiple important health benefits that range from combating depression, mood uplifting, memory retention, relaxation, hangover cure, weight loss or to increase sexual performance, to mention a few. It is definitively a blissful happy tea. 

Vibrancy: Organic and Clean. No chemicals/pesticides. From high altitude mountains of Taiwan.

Tasting experience: Deep amber cup with spicy and fruity aromas. Delicious sweet flavor of cooked apple and grenadine, with notes of cinnamon bark and nutmeg and a floral presence.

Energy experience (Qi): Mostly Yin. Rises around the solar plexus and heart chakra. Nurturing. Gentle. Heart Opening. 

Brewing guide:

  • Teapot: 250 ml water · 95 °C · 1 tsp tea · 4 minutes infusion
  • Gong Fu Cha: 100 ml water · 95°C water · 2-3 tsp tea · Multiples Infusions; (1st) 35 sec, (2nd) 25 sec, (3rd) 40 sec, and +15 sec every additional infusions.
