WAO TEA

玉露 Yu Lu

$399.00

We are delighted to introduce 玉露 Yu Lu teapot to our collection, in collaboration with One Space studio, located in Yixing city, China.

This tea pot is fully handmade, with authentic and high grade 朱泥 Zhuni clay, from Huang Long Shan, one of the most popular raw material for Yixing teapots today.

朱 (zhu) is for cinnabar, vermillion, referring to the bright orange-red color

泥 (ni) is for mud or clay

Artist : 陆知航 Lu Zhi Hang

Capacity : ~120ml

Story : A graceful, soft, gentle piece, offering a lively pour, like dancing silk. The body of this teapot is plump like a ripe pear, adding beauty and colors to the chaxi.

The Huanglong Mountain Zhuni clay used to create this tea pot has a primitive appearance because of its grainy texture. The shape of this tea pot was inspired by the Zhuni Mo Gu teapot from the late Qing Dynasty, exclusively redesigned by teacher & master Ma Pinyi and made by Lu Zhihang, a Zhuni expert contracted by One Space studio.

The type of clay used for this tea pot (zhuni) is generally considered superior to other types of Yixing clay, which makes this tea pot ideal for fragrant teas, such as oolongs, red teas or roasted teas. But this tea pot is immensely versatile.

We are offering this teapot to our community, in collaboration with One Space studio, a collaboration of Zisha artists located on Xishi Road in Dingshu Town, China, the birthplace of Zisha pottery. The pieces created for One Space studio are a celebration of both innovation and tradition, highlighting creativity and traditional roots.

*International shipping is offered for all teapots.

*Installment payment available when selecting the option Shop Pay at checkout.
